When you think fashion do you think DHL Express?

Neither do we.

But we’re second guessing ourselves after Arab Fashion Week which was recently held in Dubai, UAE.

In a one off unique collaboration, Lebanese fashion designer Mikhail Chamoun collaborated with DHL Express for what we can only describe as fun.

Because other than being wearable, sometimes, fashion need to be fun if not aspirational and thought provoking. And it took us a minute but after seeing Chamoun’s designs, it got us thinking about services such DHL Express, help those of us who browse online, buy online.

DHL Express, the official logistics partner for the Arab Fashion Week and Mikhail Chamoun was a season two contestant of Project Runway Middle East – anyone else thinking about the unconventional materials challenge? Makes sense right?

Before his stint of Project runway, Chamoun had already founded his own self-titled fashion line. His aesthetic has always been romantic, elegant and semi structural, something we saw translated in his collaboration with DHL Express.

The exclusive capsule collection was made from DHL’s packaging material. As the designs hit the runway it was obvious that they attempted to express the different facets of how DHL’s functions within fashion – international, speed, delivery.

“I am delighted to launch three capsule collections in collaboration with DHL Express – a couture collection representing the world and an avantgarde collection,” Mikhail Chamoun said.

“It is every designers dream to create something that connects people, and it is a wonderful coincidence that I have the chance to do this through an amazing collaboration with DHL, which is known for connecting people around the world.”

It’s no real surprise to anyone that eCommerce has changed and continues to alter the face of fashion. From how designers create and how consumers shop – fashion is becoming accessible to all.

It’s also opening doors for young designers and entrepreneurs. Companies like DHL play an important role in serving the fashion industry by delivering materials and products on time regardless of distance or circumstance and helping create major fashion event around the world.

But to see their raw materials and logo in a literal manner on the catwalk has given new meaning to the words express.
