Why did the peacock cross the road? We have no idea. Maybe you can tell us?

It’s summer in Dubai right now, and saying it’s hot is an understatement. Temperatures are sitting around 42 degrees with 40 percent humidity!

It’s hard to imagine any kind of animal life (except maybe lizards?) would be strolling around Dubai, let alone a peacock!

The video below was taken by Dubai resident Meitha Al Mazrooei who spotted one of the more fashionable birds of the bird kingdom casually crossing the road in front of her while she was driving around the DIFC area.

Although the peacock doesn’t raise his train and show off the pattern of his feathers, he still looks pretty pleased with himself crossing the road.

Peacocks are native to India but the birds have a long and colorful history in the Middle East, ever since they were initially brought to ancient Babylon (modern day Iraq) by early Indian traders.
